Request for permission from citizens, business entities and organizations to allow GMOs to cross the state border

Notification of the importing party or conclusion that the GMO has been subjected to risk assessment by an accredited research organization authorized by the Government of the importing and exporting countries

A description of the characteristics of the GMO and a description of the conditions under which it can reproduce;

A work report on the environmental impact assessment of GMOs;

5

Safety rules for handling GMOs, recommendations and instructions on measures to prevent any risks;

A copy of the citizen's ID card for a citizen, a copy of the state registration certificate for a business entity or organization (the authorized person receiving the document shall verify the copy with the original and make a note on the authenticity of the copy free of charge), and a notarized copy if submitted by mail.

Process Steps

Step 1

The Applicant submits a request to the Ministry of Environment and Tourism along with all required documents

Step 2

The Ministry of Environment and Tourism will review the request.

Step 3

If the application gets approved, the applicant receives the Special Permit.

NOTE:

1. Relevant provisions of the Law on Quarantine Control and Inspection of Animals, Plants, Raw Materials and Products of Their Origin shall be applied to the general requirements for the entry of genetically modified organisms across the state border, and to the prohibition of their entry, transit, detention and destruction. .

2. The destruction and detoxification of GMOs that have been identified as hazardous by a risk assessment shall be carried out under the supervision of a state inspector.
